About the service
The Administrative AI Solutions service helps UW–Madison administrative units, their staff, and the technical teams that support them put artificial intelligence to work across their operations. We focus on use cases that go beyond everyday productivity tools: AI that draws on specific institutional data sets or integrates with existing campus systems to improve how administrative work gets done. That ranges from targeted enhancements of current business processes to transformational changes in how services are delivered.
We work directly with administrative functions across campus, including human resources, finance, facilities planning and management, and student services, to find where AI can help and to move good ideas from intake to a supported, governed solution. The scale ranges from department and unit solutions to campus-wide applications. As a consultative, policy-aligned partner, we match every use case to UW’s data classification framework (Low, Medium, High) and to requirements such as FERPA and HIPAA, so units can adopt AI with confidence.
Our goal is a balanced portfolio of practical wins and longer-term innovation that delivers measurable value while keeping data and people safe.
